This protocol is used for thinning, shedding, male and female pattern hair loss, diffuse or postpartum shedding, and recovery after stress to the scalp — a broader range of candidates than early-stage thinning alone. If you're noticing more hair in the shower or on your pillow, a widening part, or general thinning at the crown or temples, you're likely a good candidate. We evaluate your hair loss pattern, scalp health, and medical history during your Assessment by Dr. Azi ($100, credited toward treatment). This is not a substitute for medical evaluation of sudden, patchy, or scarring hair loss — we'll refer out if something looks outside our scope.

How soon will I see results?

Hair restoration requires patience because hair grows in natural cycles. Visible changes often take approximately 3–6 months or longer, depending on the cause of hair loss and the treatment used. Improvement varies from person to person, and regrowth cannot be guaranteed. We monitor your progress at follow-up visits and adjust your plan as needed.

What's actually in the treatment?

Depending on your assessment, your treatment plan may include scalp mesotherapy using selected formulations containing ingredients such as vitamins and peptides.

The ingredients and approach are chosen according to your individual needs and the treatment options deemed appropriate for you.

Mesotherapy formulations vary, and evidence of effectiveness depends on the specific ingredients and the cause of hair loss. We will discuss the potential benefits, limitations, risks, and alternatives before proceeding.

Is the treatment painful?

We apply a topical numbing solution to the scalp for 20 to 30 minutes before treatment. Most patients describe the sensation as mild prickling or vibration — not painful, but noticeable. The scalp may feel tender and warm for 24 to 48 hours afterward, similar to a mild sunburn. Over-the-counter pain relief is rarely needed. We adjust needle depth and speed based on your comfort level throughout the procedure.

Can I combine this with other hair loss treatments?

Hair loss can have multiple contributing factors, which is why your care may extend beyond in-office scalp treatments.

When clinically indicated, your plan may include:

Correction of identified nutritional deficiencies.
Prescription medications when appropriate.
Medicated or supportive shampoos tailored to your scalp concerns.
Further medical evaluation when an underlying condition is suspected.
Follow-up visits to monitor your response and adjust your treatment plan.

Not every patient requires every treatment. Your recommendations will depend on your individual assessment.

Who is NOT a candidate for this treatment?

Accepted Answer

This isn't right for patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding, have an active scalp infection, have a keloid scarring tendency, or have uncontrolled medical conditions or a history of poor wound healing. It's also not a substitute for medical evaluation of sudden, patchy, or scarring hair loss — we'll flag that during consultation rather than proceed.
